A few months ago I had a jarring experience when my husband became very confused with a simple math problem. This can be an early sign of Alzheimer’s Disease. Looking back, I think there were times when I accused him of not paying attention when he may, in fact, have been in the very initial phases of the disease. He has not been diagnosed at this point, but I’m certain this is the problem. I would be thrilled to be proved wrong. I’m writing this blog to let others know how subtle the initial signs may be and to allow them to follow me on my journey as I try to help my husband as much as I am able. He is a sweet, caring and gentle man whom I love very, very much.
